Secondary School

The Secondary School is made up of students from Grade 6 (age 11) through to Grade 12 (ages 18/19 ). The International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) of the lower Grades 6-8 (ages 11-13) leads naturally on from the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in Elementary.

Grades 9-10 (ages 14-16) focus on the International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) examination and Grades 11-12 (ages 16-19) are challenged by the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB). Throughout the skills and concept of the individual academic subjects are developed.

Maths, Science, History, Geography, Economics, German, French, Spanish and individual mother tongues are offered along with Art, Music, Drama and Physical Education. Differing levels weight subjects so that a balanced programme is achieved.

Emphasis is also placed on out of classroom activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award scheme, known as the International Award in Germany, and the application of technologies, such as robotics.
