CONTRACTS
Initial contracts are normally for a period of two years. Further contracts will be of unlimited duration. All part-time and full time staff are placed on an initial six months probationary period.
A full time contract does not exceed 32 periods of 40 minutes a week in the Secondary School or Early Learning and Elementary.

Job Advert: Elementary Teacher: to cover a long term illness
The International school of Bremen is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Grade 1 Elementary Teacher to join our team at our school, which values honesty, respect, kindness, the Rights of Children, and Inclusive Learning. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and learning, and will have experience in developing and delivering a cross-curricular, thematic curriculum. They will have a strong commitment to promoting a culture of rights-respecting young people who are internationally-minded. They will be skilled in promoting exploration, making connections, and encouraging curiosity, research, building, and reflection on the interests and passions of our students.
The successful candidate will join our committed team of teachers and coordinators, who work together to promote a vision and ethos of the department. We encourage on-going dialogue with colleagues, aimed at discussing how to make pedagogical improvements and co-creating a shared vision.
As an Elementary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire our students to achieve their full potential. You will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, developing writing rubrics and a new literacy curriculum. You will also introduce Philosophy for Children, metacognitive tools, and IPC-Milepost appropriate science vocabulary.
Collegial learning observations will also be conducted, and you will be expected to track both writing and math from the beginning of the school year. You will embed IPC-Milepost vocabulary, scientific method, and literacy in the Elementary School, and build on the cross-curricular and thematic elements of the IPC.
You will have a commitment to student well-being and will ensure that PSHE classes are delivered weekly. You will also support the development of a Rights Respecting Charter, creating a Rights Steering Group, run by and for the students, with the support of teachers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
Teaching certification or license for the country you qualified in
Minimum of two years of experience teaching elementary students
