Community
International schools base their strong sense of school community on the active participation of parents and partners, who are regularly updated on school practice, general occurrences and any special events through information meetings, social media, the website and email.
Parents are also encouraged to communicate with Teachers, Heads of School and the Director, not only to enquire about their child's academic performance, but also to keep informed of daily and general matters.
Parents are actively invited to participate in and provide support to the School in its academic and extra-curricular efforts. The School is a thriving community and aims to listen and take on board views and suggestions as to how we can improve this community feeling.
SPONSORS & PARTNERS
FRIENDS OF ISB
We are FRIENDS OF ISB. Where Community Meets Opportunity.
Who is the ISB Support e.V.?
The ISB Support e.V was brought to life by our school board in 2020, with our former business manager, Mr Backes, as the president. The primary aim is to continue supporting ISB with various projects to improve the facilities and overall student and family experience. Since the financing for some of these projects can not be guaranteed through the school budget, the ISB Support e.V. made it their mission to support the school with donations for school improvement projects.
Through our fundraising and your generous donations some of our achievements include:
- Purchase and installation of the ground water pump in the ISB garden.
- Construction of the Early Learning Centre outside playground
The ISB Support e.V. also hosts various fundraising events, including the Annual Winter Dinner and ISB Summer Celebration, to connect our school and community more closely.
Who can join?
You! Any individual, Alumni, parent, community member or company that would like to support the students at ISB to have the best possible learning experiences. As an active member of the ISB Support e.V. you will also be invited to participate in planning and decision-making on future projects.
ISB Support e.V. is a non for profit organisation, therefore, if you would like to receive a charity donation receipt, please send us the name and full address of the person(s) or institution. This information is necessary to ensure that the German tax office accepts the receipt.
UNIVERSITY & CAREERS SUPPORT
TERTIARY EDUCATION
ISB offers students of grades 11-12 guidance for their journey into life after school: whether it is higher education, apprenticeship, gap year or other choices. We have a dedicated University Counsellor who works with the class cohorts, as well as with individual students, to provide assistance in all aspects of future education and careers planning. This ranges from identifying strengths in both academic subjects and extra-curricular activities, in order to help the student in his or her institution and course selection, to providing up-to-date information about international admission processes, deadlines and current events like regional educational fairs.
Graduates from ISB have moved on to various tertiary centres of education. These include:
